‘Let us never forget how privileged we are’

At the beginning of the New Year, the Executive Board of ETH Zurich held a town hall to look back on the past year and to give an outlook on the coming twelve months. A recording of this New Year's town hall is now available.

The start of a new year is often used to take stock of the past and look to the future. At last Tuesday's virtual New Year's town hall, the members of the Executive Board looked back at the most important developments of the past year and looked ahead at the topics that are likely to be particularly important for our university in 2025.

Jo?l Mesot, Günther Dissertori, Christian Wolfrum, Vanessa Wood, Ulrich Weidmann, Julia Dannath and Stefan Spiegel discussed a range of topics, including developments at the Heilbronn campus, the status of the PAKETH teaching reform, planned research collaborations and the financial outlook for our university. In his contribution, ETH President Jo?l Mesot reminded ETH members of something we should all keep in mind: "Let us never forget how privileged we are to work for an institution that educates young people and paves the way for a more sustainable, innovative and fairer world.”
