Young Professionals – the apprentices have moved into the OCT

With the apprentices and their supervisors from the IT, commercial, interactive media design and mediamatics professions, the last groups moved to the OCT in mid-June. This completes the relocation as part of Future of Work @ OCT.

Since June 11, you have been meeting more and more young people at OCT. This is because on that day, apprentices from the IT, mediamatics, interactive media design and commercial professions were the last groups to move into the OCT.

Training subjects bundled

As part of FoW@OCT, various training subjects have been brought together in one place in the OCT. You can now find them in area E 45 – announced with the door sign "Berufslehre - Young Professionals". You will find the Mediamatics and Interactive Media Design apprentices on the H floor in the 澳门美高梅金殿 Services home base.

The groups have moved from the H?nggerberg, HCP building and the ONA building to Octavo.

“The removals went off without a hitch. Now we are all arriving here together and getting organized. Things will get really exciting with the start of the training year in August, when 13 new apprentices start their basic training in the KV training laboratory.”
Heike Reinheimer, Head of the KV training laboratory and responsible for KV training

These will bring even more life to OCT in August. Martin Schneider, head of the IT teaching lab and Young 'n' Rising, agrees with Heike.

“Thanks to the good planning and active support of the FoW@OCT team, the actual move went smoothly. The apprentices actively helped to unpack the almost 60 boxes and were able to continue working on their current assignments without any problems on their second day at OCT.”

Alongside Heike, Martin is also pleased with the new location.

“We really appreciate the spacious rooms with their high-quality infrastructure and plenty of daylight. We are looking forward to our daily training work in the new Young Professionals Zone and exploring the opportunities that the new premises offer us. Vocational training will also become more visible and there will be more exchange with other teams, which will lead to new ideas and collaborations.”
Martin Schneider

In the OCT, the trainees are now gaining experience with the new forms of work and the shared desk principle and experiencing working together in a dynamic environment, adds Heike. "It will probably be livelier here on the e-floor than in other places in the OCT." She is therefore very excited about the group dynamics and the feedback from the young people.

Open Day in the fall

Heike and Martin are planning an Open Day in the fall to give all OCT employees an insight into vocational training on the e-floor and to strengthen the exchange with the other teams.
