Professur für Human Integrative (Patho)physiology
The Department of Health Sciences and Technology at ETH Zurich (www.hest.ethz.ch) invites applications for a Professorship on the topic of Human Integrative (Patho)physiology at the associate or full professor level.
The new professor is expected to address outstanding research questions in physiology and/or metabolism, advancing research in these areas with emphasis on health and disease across the human lifespan.
Candidates must have an excellent research background in human (patho)physiology, using invasive and/or non-invasive procedures. They should hold a medical degree and be qualified for clinical work, having demonstrated a strong track record in combining basic research with translational activities. Experience in modelling multi-organ systems and an interest in combining hypothesis- and data-driven research are highly desired and would be an asset. The new professor is expected to establish and lead a competitive research team, focused on integrative human physiology/metabolism within an interactive and interdisciplinary research environment. The new professor is expected to synergize with the extensive technical expertise at ETH Zurich, striving to enhance the translational drive from fundamental research to human therapeutic applications. Access to patients will be ensured through strategic collaborations with partnering clinics of ETH Zurich or through a part time clinical employment.
Additional prerequisites include a strong motivation and commitment to teach in the area of Human Physiology. The professorship will be embedded in the Department’s teaching program in Health Sciences and Technology, as well as Human Medicine, and will be expected to teach undergraduate level courses (in German or English), as well as graduate level courses (in English).
